Welcome to the Rickettsia host-pathogen interactions lab at the University of Maryland! We use molecular biology, genetic manipulation, cell biology, and infection models to define the interplay between pathogenic bacteria (Rickettsia), ticks, and mammalian hosts. A central aspect of our research is define the how both the bacterium and host attempt to tip the scales in their favor to either cause disease or prevent the serious aspects of Rickettsia infections. Take a look at our exciting work and keep an eye out for new opportunities. -Sean Riley
